Codex usage limit hit too soon? What to do

General steps, not an official fix from OpenAI. My AI Gripe is independent and isn’t affiliated with any AI company.

Check the plan’s own usage page to see what used your allowance and when it resets.
Use a smaller or cheaper model for routine work, and keep the big model for hard tasks.
Trim what you send: shorter prompts, fewer attached files, fewer tools or agents running at once.
If usage dropped with no work, or you get limit errors with allowance left, ask support to check your usage around the reset. Ask for a credit if it was their bug.
